Nathon, Lipa Noi, and Taling Ngam (west coast)

The west coast is Samui's quiet, local, sunset-facing side. Nathon is the island's main town and administrative centre, with the principal passenger ferry pier, the immigration office, banks, markets, and government offices — useful for errands and authentic Thai food, but not a beach-holiday base. Lipa Noi has a wide, shallow, calm beach and is a key vehicle-ferry arrival point; its flat sand and gentle water suit families and sunset watchers. Taling Ngam, on the southwest, is a secluded stretch of luxury resorts with hillside sea views toward the Five Islands (Koh Si Koh Ha). The west sees fewer tourists and less nightlife overall.
